Sedimentary Geology Section
(SSG), founded in 2000, is an informal group of Slovenian sedimentologists, stratigraphers and geoscientists working in related disciplines. SSG is an affiliated group of the Slovenian Geological Society (SGD) and has informal links with IAS (
International Association of Sedimentologists) through the national correspondent (Dragomir Skaberne).

The aims of SSG are to promote and stimulate sedimentological and stratigraphical research both in Slovenia and internationally.
The principal activity of SSG is organistation of meetings, workshops and field trips.
The meetings ("SSG seminar") are held regularly, usually on the first Thursday of each month (except during the summer holidays) at ZRC SAZU in Ljubljana.
